Looking at the Hydrogen Storage Patent Closely

Our patent is the one for increased storage density for hydrogen gas. The patent is of a chemical structure where long chains of carbon called graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) are studded with magnesium atoms. The graphene is chemically inert and just serves as a high surface area matrix onto which to place the magnesium. The magnesium atoms reacts with the gaseous hydrogen molecules to form a solid compound called magnesium hydride. By doing this the gas is stored in solid form, reducing the pressure inside the tank and increasing the number of moles of hydrogen per unit volume.
